Navy Installations Seek Feedback to Improve Base Quality of Service Programs

Navy bases worldwide are set to enhance the quality of life for service members and their families through a range of upgraded programs. These initiatives, including unaccompanied and family housing, Fleet and Family Support Centers, child and youth activities, and morale facilities, aim to improve overall service support for Sailors.

Vice Adm. Scott Gray, Commander of Navy Installations Command, emphasized the importance of these programs, stating, “Our Sailors and families are the heart and soul of everything we do in defense of our nation.” The priority placed on quality of service is seen as crucial for maintaining readiness, morale, and well-being.

Significant changes have been introduced in 2024 to address the concerns of Sailors directly. Fitness centers on bases now operate round the clock to bolster physical and mental health. Additionally, policy changes allow Sailors in unaccompanied housing to use personal small appliances, promoting healthier eating habits.

Gray noted, “We continually seek ways to improve customer-focused programs that support warfighters and their families.” He underscored the commitment to incorporating feedback into real-world improvements, inviting input via email at navyqualityofservice@us.navy.mil.

Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) administers these worldwide management initiatives, covering 10 Navy regions and 70 installations. With a workforce exceeding 43,000, the CNIC’s mission is to sustain the fleet, enable fighters, and support families within the Navy community.
