Navy Relieves Reserve Region Cheyenne Commanding Officer

Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Bourque has been dismissed from his role as the commanding officer of NRC Cheyenne. The decision was made by Capt. Christopher Peppel, responsible for overseeing the Navy Reserve Region Readiness and Mobilization Command based in Everett, Washington.

NRC Cheyenne operates under its parent unit, the Navy Reserve Region Readiness and Mobilization Command Everett. This underscores the Navy’s commitment to maintaining high standards for those in commanding positions, ensuring accountability when these standards are not sustained.

In the interim, Lt. Cmdr. Margaret Nichols has stepped into the role of commanding officer at NRC Cheyenne. Meanwhile, Bourque has been reassigned to the Navy Reserve Forces Command. His tenure as the commanding officer of NRC Cheyenne began in December 2023.

For further inquiries regarding this change, please reach out to Cmdr. Robert Myers at CNRFC Public Affairs (CNRF_PAO@us.navy.mil).
