NSF Dahlgren and NSF Indian Head to Participate in Navy-wide Security Drills Feb. 3-14

Naval Support Activity South Potomac (NSASP) has announced a series of security exercises designed to enhance the preparedness of its Security Forces. The exercises, known as CS-SC25, aim to test and refine the skills necessary to protect installations, missions, and personnel.

The drills will simulate various realistic threats, including active shooter scenarios, unauthorized access to the base, and improvised explosive devices. Residents and personnel on the base should expect an increased presence of law enforcement and first responders during the exercises. Those overseeing the drills will be identifiable by marked safety vests, while designated training areas will be clearly signposted to maintain awareness and safety.

Efforts have been made to minimize disruptions to regular operations on the base. Nevertheless, temporary delays at entry points are anticipated due to the heightened security measures. The balance between thorough training and ongoing support for base missions and residents remains a priority.

“We strive to deliver the most effective training while continuing to uphold our commitments to missions and residents,” stated Capt. Jonathan Townsend, NSASP’s commanding officer. He urged personnel to be patient and recognize the significance of these drills for overall safety and security.
