Navy Relieves Naval Information Warfare Training Group Norfolk Commanding Officer

Rear Adm. Brian A. Harding has taken decisive corrective action by relieving Cmdr. Sarah M. Quemada of her duties as the commanding officer of NITWG Norfolk. This unit operates under the umbrella of the Naval Information Warfighting Development Center in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Navy underscores its commitment to maintaining impeccable standards for its commanding officers. Ensuring accountability when these standards are not met remains a priority.

In response to this change, Capt. Steve McIntire has been appointed to serve temporarily as the commanding officer of NITWG Norfolk. His tenure will last until a permanent leader is chosen.

Cmdr. Quemada, who began her role at NITWG Norfolk in June 2023, has now been reassigned to Naval Information Forces, reflecting a strategic realignment within the Navy’s leadership cadre.

For further inquiries, Naval Information Forces has directed communications to Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Robert Fluegel, reachable via email at robert.j.fluegel.civ@us.navy.mil.
