Navy Ousts San Diego Ethics Commander in Leadership Shakeup
In a recent leadership shift at the Navy Leadership and Ethics Center (NLEC) San Diego, Capt. Shawn T. Bailey has relieved Capt. Lester Brown, Jr., of his commanding officer duties. Capt. Brown has been reassigned to serve within the Naval Surface Force at the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
Temporarily taking the helm at NLEC San Diego is Capt. Richard Zeber, who joins from the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center in Newport. Capt. Zeber’s interim appointment ensures the continuity of NLEC San Diego’s mission-critical programs.
The primary mission of NLEC San Diego is to deliver comprehensive training and education to officers who are yet to assume command roles. It also administers courses dedicated to advancing leadership skills among enlisted personnel.
Capt. Brown had assumed leadership at NLEC San Diego in September 2022, overseeing significant naval training initiatives during his tenure.
