U.S., UAE Forces Begin Exercise Iron Defender in Arabian Gulf

The U.S. military’s latest bilateral exercise aimed to strengthen regional collaborations in the Middle East is already showcasing results. Participants engaged in complex scenarios such as visit, board, search and seizure operations. These exercises included cutting-edge unmanned system integration and advanced harbor defense techniques.

The military drill encompassed vital areas in the U.S. 5th Fleet operations. This strategic region covers nearly 2.5 million square miles of water. Key zones like the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Red Sea were central to the exercise.

This exercise is only one in a series, designed to fortify partnerships and enhance operational interoperability. Important objectives included diving, medical training, and at-sea operations. The U.S. military actively seeks to maintain and bolster alliances in the region through such initiatives.

With three crucial choke points — the Strait of Hormuz, Suez Canal, and Bab al-Mandeb — the area remains vital for global maritime security. The U.S. military remains committed to ensuring long-term regional stability through these joint endeavors.
