NSW Joins Forces with Lithuanian and German Special Ops for Elite Training Sessions
Naval Special Warfare Operators from the U.S. East Coast, alongside Lithuanian and German Special Operations Forces, recently completed a rigorous two-week training exercise in the Baltic region. This exercise focused on increasing warfighting readiness and enhancing the working relationship among NATO allies.
The training encompassed complex maritime operations, specialized small boat tactics, and low-light weapons live-fire drills. These were designed to improve the interoperability and strategic prowess of the participating forces, ensuring a robust joint-defensive posture in the region.
Commodore V. Scott King, of Naval Special Warfare Group TWO, emphasized the significance of these exercises. “By training alongside our Lithuanian and German counterparts, we’re enhancing our readiness and strengthening the bonds of friendship that are vital to our alliance,” he remarked.
Participants honed their skills in maritime special operations along with advanced marksmanship and close-quarters combat techniques. A key component of the exercise was the operation of small raiding crafts from the well decks of the Combatant Craft Medium, a versatile boat in the Naval Special Warfare fleet. The training concluded with a full-mission profile, integrating all learned skills into a cohesive operational scenario.
The senior Naval Special Warfare Operator highlighted the benefits of collaboration, stating, “The training was realistic and challenging. We learned from each other and shared best practices—crucial for maintaining elite operational standards.”
Naval Special Warfare Group TWO remains committed to deploying premier maritime special operations forces to achieve U.S. national objectives across a spectrum of operations.
