Acting Under Secretary of the Navy, Mancinelli, held a significant meeting with Governor Guerrero to discuss the strategic Indo-Pacific region. They reinforced their mutual dedication to achieving shared objectives.

During this meeting, Mancinelli expressed gratitude to Governor Guerrero for her unwavering support of the U.S. military’s presence on Guam. This acknowledgment underscores the vital role Guam plays in national defense strategies.

Governor Guerrero highlighted the pressing need for increased federal investment in Guam. She pinpointed infrastructure, healthcare, and the recovery from Typhoon Mawar as critical areas requiring federal attention and resources.

Mancinelli reiterated the necessity of ongoing dialogue with local stakeholders and government entities in Guam. He discussed the Department of Defense’s commitment to partnering with the Governor’s office to align the military build-up with community interests.

This meeting marked Mancinelli’s first in-person engagement with Governor Guerrero since assuming his role on August 20. As the Department of Defense’s Senior Defense Official for Guam, he is eager to collaborate on securing the U.S. homeland and enhancing Guam’s resilience while ensuring the Indo-Pacific remains free and open.
