Navy Intelligence and Security Leader Tours NAVSCIATTS

During a visit to the Stennis Space Center, key figures from the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee and the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Intelligence and Security, Victor B. Minella, engaged in insightful briefings and demonstrations with Naval Special Warfare Command. John Keast, SASC staff director, along with Pat Thompson, Adam Barker, and Chris Vignes, received vital updates from NAVSCIATTS Commander Robert LeClerc and his team. These discussions focused on the command’s strategic initiatives in supporting theater security cooperation priorities.

Minella’s itinerary included a comprehensive tour of the Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School. This institution is pivotal, training and educating security force professionals from across the globe, underscoring the U.S. Navy’s commitment to high-quality security force assistance. Since its inception in 1963, NAVSCIATTS has trained over 14,000 partners from 129 countries, making it an indispensable resource in fostering global security collaboration.

The delegation’s visit to Special Boat Team 22, the Navy’s exclusive riverine capability, provided further insights into operational readiness. Highlights of the tour featured a Special Operations Craft-Riverine demonstration and M134 machine gun familiarization. These sessions epitomized the hands-on approach to understanding and enhancing operative capabilities within the specialized naval force.
