Five Broward Residents to Enlist During Florida Panthers Game

SUNRISE, Fla. – In a unique melding of sports and service, Rear Adm. Ryan Perry from Fort Lauderdale is set to administer the Navy oath of enlistment at an upcoming hockey game. The ceremony will occur during the Florida Panthers’ face-off against the L.A. Kings on January 29, 2025, at the Amerant Bank Arena.

Robert Logozzo, an Electronics Technician (Nuclear) 2nd Class with the Navy Talent Acquisition Group Miami, expressed the excitement of the future Sailors. “They recognized it as a once-in-a-lifetime chance and are eager to make life-changing decisions,” said Logozzo. He emphasized the importance of community support in this process.

This enlistment ceremony is part of Rear Adm. Perry’s broader visit to his hometown. His itinerary includes discussions with legislative figures and non-profit leaders. The visit, which extends until January 30th, aims to boost Navy awareness and recruitment, coinciding with its 250th anniversary celebrations.

The Navy Talent Acquisition Group Miami, responsible for recruitment activities in South Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, remains committed to enlisting top-tier Sailors to fulfill naval operational needs.
