In a tragic incident, the identities of two Naval Aviators remain confidential following Navy policy, ensuring their families are informed first. The notification process requires a 24-hour wait after contacting the next of kin.

Cmdr. Timothy Warburton, leading the Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 130, expressed profound sorrow for the loss. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of two beloved Zappers,” he stated. The squadron’s current focus is on supporting the grieving families and the wider Growler community while maintaining the welfare of its Sailors.
