In a significant demonstration of regional unity, combined armed forces will undertake a Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity within the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone on August 7 and 8, 2024. This initiative aims to bolster regional and international cooperation to sustain a free and open Indo-Pacific.

The naval and air force units of multiple nations will engage in joint operations. These collaborative exercises are designed to enhance the cooperation and interoperability of the participating armed forces. Conducted in adherence to international law, the activity will prioritize the safety of navigation and respect the rights and interests of other states.

By addressing common maritime challenges together, the involved nations underscore their commitment to international law and a rules-based order. The four nations involved reaffirm the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Tribunal Award, deeming it a final and legally binding decision on the parties involved in the dispute.
