Brenda Johnson-Turner, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Installations and Facilities, has announced a new collaborative agreement alongside senior leaders from the Navy and Marine Corps. This agreement, signed with Sourcewell representatives at the Defense Communities Installation Innovation Forum in San Antonio, Texas, aims to enhance military installations’ operational capacity.

Ms. Johnson-Turner expressed her enthusiasm for the agreement, emphasizing the necessity of employing innovative strategies sanctioned by Congress. She stated, “The IGSA authority provides a valuable tool for managing our installations amidst budget limitations, and this agreement with Sourcewell opens new paths for supporting our Navy and Marine Corps installations.”

The agreement is poised to amplify the buying power of the Navy and Marine Corps by reducing procurement costs and accelerating delivery timelines for essential services and equipment. By utilizing Sourcewell’s pre-established contracts, naval installations can procure necessary goods and services more swiftly, optimizing the use of taxpayer dollars.

Dr. Chad Coauette, Sourcewell’s CEO, commented, “Working with Navy and Marine Corps installations is an honor. This agreement allows our team to collaborate with installation leadership to procure through local businesses, ensuring efficient support for mission success.”

This marks Sourcewell’s second agreement with a Department of Defense entity, following a similar partnership with the U.S. Army earlier this year.
