NAS Pensacola Security Force Participates in Training Exercise

Recent exercises at NAS Pensacola emphasized the importance of maintaining peak readiness among Navy security personnel by conducting simulations designed to bolster force protection protocols.

“Evaluating our procedures against realistic threats ensures we enhance readiness across the board,” explained NAS Pensacola Installation Training Officer Erich Brinkmeier. These exercises challenge information dissemination, individual response plans, and coordination with local emergency services, which is crucial for preparedness.

The training featured unmanned aerial surveillance and active shooter drills, designed by the NAS Pensacola Anti-Terrorism Training Team (ATTT) to assess the readiness of Naval Security Forces.

“Our facility must remain proactive in preparing for potential threats,” emphasized NAS Pensacola Commanding Officer Capt. Terry ‘Village’ Shashaty. The drills measure our ability to communicate and act efficiently, safeguarding service members, their families, and visitors.

Historically known as the Cradle of Naval Aviation, NAS Pensacola supports myriad operational and training missions. It serves as the base for notable commands such as the Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) and Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), among others.
