Navy Career Symposium Sets Course for Southeast Expansion
Sailors stationed in the Southeast will soon have a significant opportunity to enhance their careers through the upcoming Career Development Symposium (CDS). This event will serve as a platform for direct interaction with MyNavy HR representatives, offering valuable information and resources related to professional growth. Attendees can engage with detailers, community managers, and policy experts, gaining insights that can shape their future in the Navy.
The CDS Southeast tour is scheduled to take place at three key locations: Naval Air Station Jacksonville on December 3, Naval Station Mayport on December 4, and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay on December 5. Each day will commence with an all-hands call, featuring senior MyNavy HR leaders, ensuring comprehensive communication from the top.
“We aim to empower Sailors to actively manage their careers,” stated Navy Personnel Command Force Master Chief Bill Houlihan. “CDS allows us to provide crucial career guidance, with access to senior leadership and policy advisors ready to respond to questions directly from the fleet.”
The symposium at each venue starts at 8:30 a.m., with events following throughout the day. At Naval Air Station Jacksonville, activities will unfold at the River Cove Bingo Hall after the initial gathering at the base chapel. Naval Station Mayport will host its events at Ocean Breeze and other designated locations following the starting call at the gym. Meanwhile, CDS at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay will begin at the Triplex, establishing a consistent start time across all venues.
